How to [Hot Dogs]

“How To [Hot Dogs]” is a bilingual book featuring collagraph and pressure prints for how to make two different hot dogs, a Chilean Completo and a Birmingham Hot Dog. The hot dogs chosen were brought together to capture the ubiquitous nature of a hot dog beyond the American experience. Much like in the United States, the Chilean hot dog serves as inexpensive street food that unequivocally places you in a specific location. My intention, with this distillation of a hot dog, is to highlight how food is a mediating force for bringing two seemingly disparate cultures and places together.
